Shooting8mm
A terrific site with
lots 'o resources and a terrific discussion forum.
This site is run by
Andreas Andersen (a proud Sniper owner!) and originates out of Oslo, Norway.
Brrrrrrrr. Chilly.....
Super
8 Man
Bees Knees of super
8 related sites on the web. Also the proud owner of a WorkPrinter-XP!
You'll need to pack
a bag and stay awhile to really appreciate all that Michael has to offer.
Pull up a chair and
go retro.
The
8mm Metadirectory
Wow! So much gawdamn
information on one site. Either the webmaster is a genius or has zero social
life. Hmmmm.
That sort of describes
me, except for the "genius" part......
Dwayne's
Super 8 Processing Lab
The only Kodachrome
super 8 processing lab in the world.
Let me repeat: The
ONLY Kodachrome super 8 processing lab in the world.
Yeah, you BET you'll
bookmark that page.....
Mondofoto
Visual Encyclopedia of Super 8
Just plain fun. Every
super 8 camera ever made is presented in this excellent web-based catalog.
Check out the section
on the awesome Fujica ZC1000 (the name sounds like a motorcycle, doesn't
it?)
Anyway, I want another
one bad. Wife says no. Ah, but she likes motorcycles.
Hmmmmm......
Nah. She'd never fall
for it, even if I left it in the garage......
JAVA
Photo
Decent supplier of
basic super 8 and regular 8mm editing supplies and odds and ends.
They also have the
Fomapan film and processing and some VERY hard to find super 8 sound cartridges
that they keep in
the freezer..... or Fort Knox, is it? Either way, the stuff is like
gold; damned expensive.
It's a sad state of
super 8 when we have to use 10 year old film just to avoid jittery cartridges.
C'mon, Kodak, get
a clue.....
Anyway, Rick likes
his leasure time so call them after 2:00 PM CST and ask for a list of what
they have since not everything is on the website.
Urbanski
Photo Supply
A terrific source
for both old films as well as cleaning supplies for S8, R8 and 16mm.
It's a fairly large
site so you have to poke around a bit. Like JAVA Photo above, probably
best just to call them and
ask for what you need.
They ship pretty fast and prices are reasonable, considering how hard some
of this stuff is to find.
OnSuper8
There be a whole lot
of links on this website related to film production, etc. You'll just have
to visit it and look around for yourself.
The
Bad Movie Report
The bastion of crap
cinema run by a very talented writer named Freeman Williams. We once made
a really bad horror film
together that was
both the high point and low point of our professional careers. He wrote
and I pretended to direct.
Our lives have never
been the same since.
Very scary.......
Animato
Run by Jan-Eric Nyström
in the suburban wilds of brisk Helsinki, Finland. This guy is brilliant
and, apparently, never sleeps.
When he's not doing
painstaking animation, building animation cameras or experimenting with
3-D photography, he's building
gigantic miniature
rail road trains from scratch! A total over-achiever, look up the word
"perfectionist" and there's a picture of Jan-Eric.
I'm tired from just
logging onto his site to get his URL.
I need a nap, now.....
StopMotionAnimation.Com
Oh, yeah. This is
THE best animation discussion forum around. All the heavy hitters are here
and log on frequently
to answer questions.
The board has a really nice give and take quality where egos are checked
at the door.
The archive alone
could be the basis for a college thesis.
"Everyone knows you're
square, Denham."
Classico......
Super8Guy.com
One stop shopping
for everything Super 8. Info, equipment rental, references.
It's super 8, guy.
